Tallahassee News: FSU Ranks High with the News and World Report
Tallahassee has a strong university culture. If you live in Tallahassee, you’re probably proud of Florida State University. Before, the sports teams were the source of pride. But now, there’s another thing to be proud of - the academics.
Improved Ranking
In U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges 2020 comparison, FSU ranked as 18th of the best colleges. In the past, the school has never done as well. In fact, it’s never even ranked in the top 25. Last year, the school was close with a ranking of 26. But in 2016, it was all the way at number 43.
There are several reasons for the ranking. One reason could be the low class size. Approximately half of all FSU classes have less than 20 students. Additionally, the school has improved the graduation rates and resources available to the faculty.
It’s likely that the ranking will only help FSU. Many people rely on U.S. News and World Report to choose their college. When they see FSU’s high ranking, they are more likely to consider it.
