Updated: Dec 21, 2020

Life can get expensive. Fortunately, Tallahassee is a large enough city that it boasts many budget-friendly activities. Find out where to go to explore Tallahassee on a budget.
1. Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park
This beautiful garden state park only costs $6 per vehicle or $2 per pedestrian out of the blooming season. Once you’re on the grounds, you can find over 200 kinds of flowers. There are also some hiking trails, biking trails, and boating areas. Bring your fishing pole and do some fishing, or wear your swimming trunks and jump in the water. When you want to explore Tallahassee on a budget, this place fits the bill.
Located on Centerville Road, this is one of the great free attractions in the city. The store has been in the same family since 1927 and is now on the National Register of Historic Places. In addition to viewing some of the area’s history, you can taste some delicious food. They serve homemade sausages, grits, and more on a canopy road.
If you’re looking for a free activity in Tallahassee, then head to Dorothy B. Oven Park. The park has free admission for all from sunrise to sunset. There are six acres of breathtaking gardens. For a close-up of some local fauna, go for a walk on the grounds.
